We're here to help!
Switching your skincare routine to natural can be a big step, in our opinion, it's a step worth taking. Here are some common reasons why people have made the switch:
- Concern of the toxic preservatives, parabens, and synthetic "nature identical" ingredients found in most commercial cosmetics and personal care products on the market today
- Hyper-Dermal conditions
- Underwhelming longterm cosmetic results from use of contemporary products
- Environmental impact / conscious lifestyle
- Revived interest in alchemy + traditional botanical formulas
When you do decide to make the switch, here are some common things to expect:
1. The 28-Day Cycle Rule
Our skin regenerates on a 28-day cycle. Some product effects are immediate, others may take the full 28 days to show. Products are optimally-effective when used consistently.
2. Your Skin Might Freak Out
Think of it as taking out the garbage. Within 28-days, you will see a difference in your skin, though it may take longer than the 28-day regeneration cycle for skin to settle into a harmonious balance completely. Hang in there, it's worth it! P. S. There is a BIG difference between detox and irritation, pay attention to symptoms such as swelling and hives when using any personal care product, they are likely indicators of an allergic reaction!
3. Not all natural products are created equal
Look, there's a lot of coo coo stuff out there, & we want you to feel confident in your choice of switching to St. Alabaster. Our formulas stem from 3 generations of botanical cultivation and study. We've created and tested these formulas on our families as their needs arose- from first aid to pet shampoo, to sunburn salves- These formulas are tried and true.
A WORD ABOUT PRESERVATIVES:
The simple truth is, if a product contains water, it needs a broad spectrum preservative to prevent microbial bacterial growth. At St. Alabaster we use the preservative commonly know as Geoguard ETC- a non-toxic broad spectrum preservative comprised of Benzyl Alcohol, Salicylic Acid, Glycerin, and Sorbic Acid. This is one of the only globally accepted preservation system that meets the ECOCERT standards.
Our Golden Rule for trying any new skin care product is: If you can eat it (theoretically, don't actually eat it please), and it is properly + safely preserved with non-toxic ingredients, you're good.
4. A thank you from us, for helping tp protect our oceans and natural habitats
Toxic and synthetic ingredients don't just effect you, those same ingredients get flushed into our local bodies of water where they poison our animal friends. Remember those plastic microbeads in your drugstore cleanser? They are now banned nationwide via the Microbead-Free Waters Act of 2015 for the above mentioned pollution. Thank you for choosing to be kind to Mother Nature, + to live responsibly by supporting responsible companies.
